"Il Novello dell'Emilia-Romagna" is an evocative event that takes place every year in the heart of the village of Montegridolfo.
This event is not just a village festival, but the stage for the homonymous and only Regional Competition authorised to award the prestigious title of 'Olio Novello' in Emilia-Romagna.

This year, the appointment is set for Sunday 14 December.
On that date, the castle and its streets will come alive in a magical atmosphere, often enriched by Christmas markets and shows.
The focus of the day is the celebration of newly produced extra virgin olive oil. The event aims to promote olive growing culture and the high quality of the local product, offering visitors the chance to participate in guided tastings to appreciate the different organoleptic nuances and learn how to recognise an excellent oil.

The day culminates with the prize-giving ceremony of the competition, where farms and amateur producers compete, recognising the best regional oils and consolidating the deep bond between Montegridolfo and the green gold of its land.
